Celebrating What God Did Through the Good Medicine 5K 2026

One of the beautiful ways we saw God cultivate belonging and beauty this summer was through the Good Medicine 5K.

In partnership with Wings of America, Rez had the joy of serving our city during Santa Fe Indian Market weekend. What began as an opportunity to volunteer became a beautiful picture of the kind of church we want to be: a people who make room for others, serve generously, and participate in the good work God is already doing in our city.

Rez volunteers showed up early, served along the course, helped with parking and directions, welcomed runners and families, and worked together to make the morning a success. It was ordinary work—standing outside, giving directions, setting up, encouraging people, and making sure others were cared for—but through it, God gave us an opportunity to extend hospitality and friendship beyond the walls of our church.

We were especially grateful for the chance to partner with Wings of America and to support their work of promoting wellness and community among Native people. The morning reminded us that the beautiful fruit God grows in us is not meant to stay inside the church. As we are rooted in Christ, he sends us outward to love and bless our neighbors.

And perhaps one of the sweetest parts was simply being together. People from Rez served side by side, met new people, encouraged one another, and experienced the joy of giving ourselves away for the good of others. In small but meaningful ways, we saw belonging take root.

The Good Medicine 5K was a picture of this year's vision in action: everyone extending invitation, everyone engaging formation, and everyone expecting growth. We extended invitation by welcoming and serving our neighbors. We engaged formation by practicing the way of Jesus through humble service. And we expected growth by trusting that God can use even ordinary acts of love to bear fruit we may never fully see.

We give thanks to God for what he did through that morning—and for the people he allowed us to serve, the relationships he gave us, and the joy we shared together.

This is the kind of beautiful fruit we are praying for at Rez: deep roots in Christ that overflow into a life of love, hospitality, service, and blessing for Santa Fe.

May God continue to cultivate good soil among us and, in his timing, bring forth beautiful fruit.
